Product Description
Transparent Glasses
KLINGER transparent glasses have smooth surfaces and are mainly used for high pressure (above 35 bars) and temperatures within the limits shown in the pressure and temperature table.
Owing to the rapid attack of the boiler water on the glass at high temperatures we in general recommend the use of mica-protected glasses at temperatures above 243oC.
Klinger Glass Type | Type A | Type B | Type TA 28 |
Application Transparent Glasses | bar | °C | bar | °C | bar | °C |
For media which do not significantly affect the glass e.g. oils and hydrocarbons | 240 | 120 | 290 | 120 | - | - |
160 | 400 | 200 | 400 | - | - |
0-10 | 430 | 0-10 | 430 | - | - |
For media which seriously attack the glass e.g. saturated steam, HPWH, alkalis | 35 | 243 | 35 | 243 | 120 | 324 |
70 | 300 | 85 | 300 | 180 | 356 |
1) For steam pressures above 35 bar we recommend the use of mica-protected transparent glasses.
2) At steam pressure above 120 bar only TA-28 glasses, size, may be used.
3) TA-28 glasses may only be used with mica-protection.
KLINGER transparent glasses are suitable for all technically practicable below-zero temperatures.
Superior Design and ConstructionConstructed from high-grade borosilicate or tempered glass, Klinger Transparent Glasses ensure outstanding clarity and durability. The assembly includes mild steel or stainless steel cases, PTFE, graphite, or asbestos gaskets for exceptional sealing, making them suitable for hazardous and high-pressure environments.
Customizable for Versatile ApplicationsThese gauges are available in a range of lengths up to 3000 mm and can be customized for width, outer size, and glass thickness to match application requirements. Multiple mounting orientations and end connection options (flanged, screwed, welded) provide adaptability for various industrial systems.
Reliable Performance & SafetyHydraulically tested to the required pressure, Klinger Transparent Glasses guarantee operational safety even under extreme conditions. The design supports visible liquid columns for precise readings, making them indispensable in managing high-stakes industrial processes.
FAQ's of Klinger Transparent Glasses:
Q: How are Klinger Transparent Glasses typically installed in industrial setups?
A: These gauges can be vertically mounted on tanks, boilers, or chemical vessels using flanged, screwed, or welded end connections. The installation orientation and connection type are selected based on the specific site and compatibility with the vessel.
Q: What are the main benefits of using borosilicate or tempered glass in these gauges?
A: Borosilicate and tempered glasses offer high resistance to thermal shock, chemical attack, and pressure, ensuring durability and safety. This makes them suitable for high-temperature applications up to 400C and working pressures up to 35 bar.
Q: When should I opt for customized sizes or measuring ranges?
A: Custom sizing and measuring ranges should be chosen when standard dimensions do not suit the tank or vessel geometry, or when precise liquid measurement over atypical spans is required. These options ensure accurate monitoring tailored to unique industrial operations.
Q: Where are these transparent glass level gauges most commonly used?
A: They are extensively deployed in industrial sectors such as power generation (boilers), chemical processing, storage tanks, and pressure vessels, where reliable and clear liquid level monitoring is critical for process control and safety.
Q: What is the standard process for pressure and quality testing of these gauges?
A: Each unit undergoes hydraulic pressure testing to the client's specified parameters to ensure integrity and leak-free performance before dispatch, adhering to stringent industrial quality standards.
Q: How does the gauge display liquid levels, and what accuracy can users expect?
A: The transparent glass construction allows a highly visible liquid column within the gauge, offering real-time level readings. With typical accuracy of approximately 1 mm, users can rely on precise monitoring for even critical applications.
Q: What packing and delivery options are available for Klinger Transparent Glasses?
A: Gauges are securely packed in wooden boxes or as per customer requirements to ensure safe transit, whether supplied to distributors, traders, or directly to industrial sites across India.
