Product Description

Carbon Packing

Its made with high quality carbon yarn and impregnated graphite dispersion and a proprietary lubricant.

Its ideal for high temperature applications at refineries, power plants, co-generation, hot oil wells, solar plants etc. and is inert to almost all corrosive chemicals.

When it is used for pumps, frictional heat is freely conducted to the stuffing box metal because of its excellent thermal conductivity. As a result, no or little damage will be caused to the shaft sleeve or to the packing.

Manufactured from high purity premium long staple based carbon yarn. Individual yarns are single-end coated and single-end dried prior to braiding with high temperature non-petroleum based lubricant with graphite dispersion.

  • Low coefficient of friction for increased equipment life
  • Excellent thermal conductivity means shafts run cooler, extending packing life
  • Ideal for Chemical Services
  • Low chloride certification available

Ideal for use in centrifugal pumps, plunger pumps, mixers, valves, etc.

Exceptional Durability and Resistance

Our carbon packing boasts excellent chemical and corrosion resistance, minimizing risks in both aggressive acidic and basic environments (pH 0-14). Its fire-resistant structure, high tensile strength, and optimized density contribute to longevity and performance, making it ideal for high-pressure systems and extreme temperatures.

Customizable for Various Industrial Applications

Available in braided or twisted forms, and packaged as box, roll, or as specified, this packing meets a wide spectrum of application requirements. Custom dimensions (width: 2-5mm, thickness: 5-10mm) and OEM availability ensure seamless integration for pumps, valves, and rotating equipment within industries across India.

Optimized Performance for High-Speed Operations

Designed for rotational speeds up to 20 m/s and high working pressures, the packing minimizes leakage and friction due to its sleek surface finish and integral braid. Graphite or PTFE impregnation offers superior lubrication, resulting in stable performance and reduced wear for prolonged equipment life.

FAQ's of Carbon Packing:

Q: How does carbon packing minimize leakage in industrial applications?

A: The carbon packing features a high-integrity braid structure, coupled with advanced impregnation using graphite or PTFE, which collectively minimize gaps and ensure a tight seal. This results in exceptional control of leakage, even under high-pressure (up to 300 bar) and high-speed (up to 20 m/s) conditions.

Q: What range of chemical environments can this carbon packing withstand?

A: This product exhibits excellent chemical resistance, handling a pH range from 0 to 14. Its carbon construction and high-quality impregnation allow it to endure aggressive acids, alkalis, and other corrosive chemicals commonly found in industrial settings.

Q: When should I use this packing in my machinery or equipment?

A: Opt for this carbon packing when you require reliable sealing under extreme temperature (up to 550C), high pressure, or where chemical resistance is critical. It is especially suited for pumps, valves, and rotating equipment in industries such as chemical processing, power generation, and refineries.

Q: Where can these carbon packings be installed?

A: These packings are customizable for use in a wide range of industrial equipment, such as centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, valves, mixers, and agitators. Their application covers many sectors-chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper, pharmaceutical, and more throughout India.

Q: What is the manufacturing process behind this carbon packing?

A: The packing is manufactured using premium carbon yarns, which are precisely braided or twisted. It is then impregnated with graphite or PTFE lubricants to enhance sealing, reduce friction, and further improve chemical resistance. The result is a sleek, low-friction, and long-lasting sealing solution.

Q: How does using this product benefit operational efficiency?

A: By offering high durability, minimized leakage, and stable performance at high speeds and pressures, this carbon packing reduces operational downtime, maintenance costs, and equipment wear-optimizing long-term reliability and safety for industrial applications.
